The Kodama Hotaru Bento Box is an elegant traditional hand-painted lunchbox with a large capacity.

Kodama (木霊 in Japanese) are tree spirits in Japanese folklore. It is said that every hundred year old tree has a spirit that can appear in different forms like that of animals (a deer, a bear), plant life (a leaf or a flower) or an element (fire). Those who know these trees protect them and are in turn protected by the supernatural beings.

The Kodama represented on the bento box is a Hotaru (螢 firefly in Japanese).
